Description

Ref : Spica S-9010 Barcode readers The Versatile omni directional laser bar code scanner engine for OEM applications
The Scantech Spica scan engine is designed for build-in applications. With 20 scan lines in 5 fields and 1350 scans per second the Spica is a very aggressive and easy-to-use scan engine. The latest generation of code reconstruction software further increases the scanning performance. The scanner casing is especially designed for installation in kiosks, ATM’s, return vending machines, price verifiers and similar applications. Rectangular sides and metal screw inserts improve installation possibilities. The scanner can be programmed through the interface cable and the low power consumption makes it easy to power the scanner ‘off terminal’ (direct powered). The typical applications of the Spica foresee operation of the scanner by ‘untrained’ users; your customers! Reliability and good performance are vital in these cases. The Scantech Spica S-9010 has all the features to fulfil these requirements.
General information
With a dense scan pattern in five directions, a total of 20 scan lines and 1350 scans per second, this smart bar code scanner offers the best scan performance in its class. The cable with a standard length of one metre ends in a female RJ45 connector. The ‘cut-off’ corner of the housing enables the cable to exit the scanner without exceeding the footprint area.
Cost of Ownership
The integration of the latest ASIC technology and the latest STAR code reconstruction software contribute to a low cost of ownership. The known Scantech reliability for scanners with very high MTBF times ensures care free use for many years to come.
Quality and Durability
The complete sealed housing of the Spica avoids the entrance of dirt and dust. By the use of strong ABS/Poly Carbonate for the casing, the Spica proofs itself to be a very solid scanner.
Flexibility
The Spica scanner can be mounted in numerous ways:
using four screws in the metal inserts on rear side
with a multifunctional L-shape bracket for mounting in portrait or landscape position
‘quick mount’ on any of the six sides using double sided tape
using a saddle bracket for fastening to front panel The dark coloured housing makes the scanner ‘invisible’ behind the window of its guest housing. The sides of the scanner are rectangular with smoothed edges for tight fit in 2- and 3- sided corners.
